An international non-governmental organization based in Geneva,
established in 2007 under the auspices of its parent organization
Development Alternatives (DA), New Delhi.
The purpose of DAG is to contribute to global efforts to
• evolve sustainable lifestyles worldwide based on patterns of economic development that are socially just and environmentally sound, with particular sensitivity both to the needs of the marginalized and the countries and peoples of the South and to the limits of nature;
• establish fair and democratic institutions for international cooperation and global governance in an increasingly interdependent world, giving the South a full role in policy deliberations and decisions.
DAG's activities will focus mainly on
• policy-oriented research and analysis concerning key issues at the interface of the global polity, economy, society and environment;
• the advocacy of policies and actions aimed at creating just and sustainable solutions.
